강의내용:

본 강의는 정보혁명의 시대를 맞이하는 세계정치의 변화와 연속성을 이론적, 경험적 관점에서 탐구한다. 제1부에서는 정보세계정치(the global politics of information)에 대한 역사적, 이론적, 개념적 이해를 도모함으로써 본 강의에서 다루게 될 주제에 접근하는 체계적인 분석틀을 제공할 것이다. 제2부에서는 정보혁명의 진전에 따라 새로운 세계정치의 쟁점으로서 등장하고 있는 정보인프라, 정보산업, 기술혁신, 기술표준, 인터넷과 사이버공간, 지적재산권과 카피레프트(copyleft), 문화산업 등을 국제정치학의 시각에서 살펴볼 것이다. 제3부에서는 전통적인 세계정치 연구의 주요 분야인 군사안보, 외교정치, 정치경제 등에 미친 정보혁명의 영향에 대해서 검토할 것이다. 주로 정보전쟁, 인터넷보안, 인공위성, 전자정부, 전자민주주의, 디지털외교, 전자무역, 전자금융 등의 주제들이 다루어 질 것이다. 아울러 문화, 정체성, 환경, 생명기술, 에너지자원 등의 쟁점들이 정보혁명의 맥락에서 어떻게 이해되는지도 탐구할 것이다.

수업진행:

강의와 발표 및 토론
제1주에 발표 가능주제(10주제)의 리스트 배포 및 설명
제3주까지 원하는 주제를 선정하고 발표팀 구성, 1-2 페이지의 계획서 제출
제4주부터 3분의 1은 주제발표 및 Reading에 대한 토론, 나머지 3분의 2는 담당교수의 강의
각 주의 발표 후 토론내용을 반영하여 발표문을 수정 보완해서 제14주에 제출 (발표와 발표문을 합쳐서 30%의 비중으로 전체 평가에 반영)

성적평가:

출석(10%), 토론과 발표(30%), 중간고사(30%), 기말고사(30%)
