강의내용:

본 세미나는 정보화시대를 맞이하여 새로운 국제정치학의 주제로 떠오르고 있는 지적재산권의 문제를 검토한다. 지적재산권의 세계정치를 보다 더 심층적으로 이해하기 위해서 본 세미나는 다음과 같은 다섯 가지의 주제에 초점을 맞출 것이다. 첫째, 기술의 개념을 철학적, 역사학적, 사회학적 시각에서 검토할 것이다. 둘째, 지적재산권의 개념을 개념사, 사회사의 시각에서 검토할 것이다. 셋째, 지적재산권의 세계질서를 선진국과 개도국의 시각을 대비하여 검토할 것이다. 넷째, 정보혁명으로 인한 지적재산권(copyright)의 변형과 정보공유운동(copyleft)의 등장을 검토할 것이다. 끝으로, 구체적인 사례로서 공개소프트웨어 운동과 리눅스를 검토할 것이다. 이밖에도 반도체산업, 소프트웨어산업, CDMA, WiFi, 냅스터, 소리바다, 바이오기술, 의약산업, 문화산업, 음악산업, 영화산업 등에서 제기되는 지적재산권과 정보공유운동에 얽힌 세계정치의 사례가 포함될 것이다.
